During laser engraving, the laser beam removes material to form a depression with various surface textures. When laser engraving metals, for example, both black and white effects can be created depending on the surface structure. The heat input is locally limited due to the small laser spot and extremely short pulses. This means that the rest of the part remains unaffected, making the method suitable even for temperature-sensitive components.
